Four of the applicants, who took part in the March nationwide ill-fated recruitment exercise by the Nigerian immigration services, have asked an Abuja high court to sack the interior minister Abba Moro for incompetence.
In a writ of Surmons the four applicants also want the court to compel the defendants including Abba Moro and the Nigerian immigration services, to refund the sum of N1,000 collected from each of the 520,000 applicants that took part in the failed job recruitment exercise.
The applicants are patience Nonye Omezie, Kasium Yusuf Suleiman, Okojie Arebamen and Godwin Moka.
Apart from the removal of abba moro, the applicants also want the government to account for all the monies realised from the exercise.
In addition, they are also claiming a sum of N10 million as general damages from all the defendants.
A nationwide job recruitment exercise by the Nigerian immigration services, ended in tragedy in March this year as there were stampedes in all the six centres used.
Over 30 persons died in the different centres while scores of others were injured.
In response, President Jonathan had directed that 3 relations of each applicant that died should be given automatic employment.
But up till now, the Nigerian Immigration Services has not carried out the president’s directive.
